Pub's Story
Felix's
was born in the fall of 2003 featuring delicious homemade food, top shelf
martinis, ever-changing art from Saint Louis's finest artists, and local live
music. The character created from the beginning of Felix's remains alive at
Felix's Pizza Pub today. You may not encounter live music as much, but karaoke
on Monday nights has been a big hit! However, don't be surprised if we sneak in
a great band from time to time. One thing that has never changed at Felix's
Pizza Pub is the friendly banter amongst our employees and customers. We
provide an atmosphere comfortable for all walks of life
so when you come
in, don't be surprised if you leave with a few new friends. With that in mind,
let me tell you how it all began.
Opened by Rob Quiason, who named the
restaurant after his father, Felix's has always been full of great people that
reflect the good nature of its original owner. Rob sold the restaurant to Tom
Galbraith and myself in September of 2004 and has since opened a successful
sandwich shop named after his mother, Nora, just a few doors down from Felix's
Pizza Pub. Tom and I met in first grade and were promptly in the principal's
office five minutes later for talking to each other too much. Like the brother
I never had, Tom and I were always up to something that usually led us back to
the principal's office. After 35 years of friendship, we don't get in trouble
as much, but in a lot of ways nothing has really changed. We still can't stop
talkin' to each other.
Chef Andy Roesch, who worked with us in our
early years, has recently re-joined us and is now an owner as well. I have
always wanted to start a New York style pizza place in Dogtown and with Chef
Andy's help Felix's Restaurant has been transformed into Felix's Pizza Pub.
The crust, which is made in house, is crispy on bottom and a little
chewy on top. Our specialty pizzas are made with fresh and flavorful toppings.
Neither too thick, nor too thin, it makes for a delicious pie. You can even
order it by the slice if you like. We also offer tasty wings, salads,
sandwiches and of course, our legendary baby back ribs. Chef Andy has knocked
it out of the park. His food is truly amazing.
Owning Felix's over the
years has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. We have
changed concepts many times with our menu and look, but through it all, our
customers' support has been unwavering. With the addition of a second bar in
November 2010, and the recent remodeling of our original bar and kitchen, we
can't wait to show off all the hard work that has been put into Felix's Pizza
Pub. Our customers have become our friends and their passion for Felix's is the
biggest compliment we could ever receive. We have some other big ideas around
the corner as Felix's is always growing and evolving. We look forward to
sharing them with you.
So come on in and experience a slice and a pint
on the corner of Tamm & Clayton. Bring your family in or take a pizza home.
